The Department of Research and Technology at the University of Maragheh serves as a core administrative unit responsible for directing, organizing, and advancing the university's research and technological activities. Leadership and Staff
The department is headed by Dr. Seyed Morteza Zahedi, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, who was appointed as the Director of Research and Technology by the President of the University of Maragheh.

The department's dedicated team includes:
- Mrs. Taheri – Head of the Research Group
- Mrs. Vandshoaei – Research Expert
- Dr. Shahram Abdi Azar – Research Expert
- 3 compulsory military service personnel

Performance and Achievements
Key accomplishments of the department include:
- Recruitment of Postdoctoral Researchers: For the first time, the university has successfully recruited 16 postdoctoral researchers this year.
- Enhanced Academic Ranking: According to the 2023 Times Higher Education rankings, the University of Maragheh is placed 301–350 among Asian universities and 24th among Iranian universities.
- Top Researchers: Approximately 10% of the university's faculty members are among the top 1% and 2% of the world's most cited scientists.
- Scientific Collaborations: Signing memoranda of understanding with reputable scientific and research centers, including the Maragheh University of Medical Sciences.

- Expanding Scientific Cooperation: Broadening scientific and research collaborations with academic, industrial, and research centers both domestically and internationally.
